Nominations

As the semester has progressed, I have been exposed to numerous well-written blogs, many of which are uplifting and inspiring. These blogs inspire my work to delve deeper into life and notice trends, themes, and make connections. I would like to nominate a few of the blogs that stood out to me.

Historical Content- Sarah Wills!

Sarah Wills's blog has always been one of my favorites. Not only is her blog creative and easy to read, but it incorporates a plethora of personal experiences and insight. This truly brings her blog to light as she explores the topics of history and digital literacy. One of my favorite articles is "Pacemaker". In this blog, Sarah is discussing the history content of Technology/Modern inventions. The impact became real as she shared a very moving personal experience of a pacemaker saving her life. That really made me appreciate technology a lot more and ever since then, I have been very grateful and interested in the history that brought to pass the technological advances we have today.

Computing Content- Jeffrey Whitlock


Jeffrey is one of my most respected and COOLEST classmate and friend. I have been lucky to work with him not only in the classroom, but also working on BYU Microfinance. He is an incredible leader, influencing many through his great attitude, genuine caring, and creativity. His blog is reflective of his person and I would like to nominate his recent blog, "Web 2.0: The Network Effect" as a great blog. This blog, like all of Jeffrey's other blogs, stood out to me because it included his personal experiences and opinions. This captures attention. The blog synthesizes digital content with his major of economics. With so much synthesis, AND him constantly relating himself to the reader, Jeffrey's blog is both exciting to read and educational. I gained a better knowledge of Web 2.0 and am excited to write my own blog post about this topic. Great Job Jeff!

Self-Directed Learning- Kristen Nicole Cardon!

Kristen Nicole Cardon has been doing an incredible job of connecting, consuming, and creating. I especially enjoy reading her blogs about Norbu Jinpa, a friend of hers all the way in India! Talk about incredible connection! She brings a completely novel civilization into life through her blog, often relating to themes of the class such as digital technology, capitalism, romanticism, and much more. I am lucky to be able to follow this blog and plan to continue following Kristen (not in the creepy way).
